Well beyond the polar circle, 1000 km from the North Pole, the Svalbard archipelago offers amazing sceneries, between 74° and 81° north. We adapt our journey to the weather and animal encounters : the itinerary is flexible and evolves throughout the day, to admire some of those incredible landscapes and wildlife, that draws enthusiasts from all around the globe.
Before the winter takes a definite control over the island, we will enjoy the soft and smooth light and hours-long coloured sunsets. Hill slopes turn to gold and valleys are filled with white cotton-grass heads. The last migrating birds are ready to leave and the reindeers are feasting in the tundra before the ground freezes over again. A great time to visit Svalbard for long hikes and landscape photography!
