7 days, 6 nights
During this week you will stay at our loghouse, right next to the dogyard. After a long day outside and a good warm meal, you can enjoy a sauna, and maybe get the chance to see the northern lights!
We will teach you the basics of driving dogteams and training dogs. We will go out on sleds every day, stopping for lunch by a fireplace. This will help learning the dogs to relax during these stopovers, which is an important part of our tours later in the season. We use small teams of 4-6 dogs, in order to train as many lead dogs as possible. We drive up to 30 km a day, depending on autumn training.
We will be out on an overnight trip, where we will stay at our mountain cabin. The goal is to train the dogs to sleep on a stake-out line, and let them get used to the overnight routines again!
In addition to the dogtraining we will spend time preparing for the winter season: getting the sleds ready, clearing the trails from small bushes and trees, preparing cabins and many other tasks which needs to be done.
If you want to learn more about mushing and sleddogs training, this is your chance!
