Haugtussa

Haugtussa is a robust gem of a cabin, situated in front of the mighty Devddes lake, with spectacular views on the mountains. In Målselv region, we are proud to give our guests the experience of a close encounter with the arctic wilderness elements. An idyllic location and a sheltered paradise at the entrance of Dividalen National Park. The oldest log-cabin is originally from 1951, and was used as a fishing and hunting hut. We use it nowadays as an advanced base-camp on our dogsledding expeditions.

Welcome to Haugtussa, a comfortable advanced base into the wilderness, right on the shore of Devddes lake. Traditional cabin life, where we light ourselves with petrol lamps and drink fresh water straight from the river!

At the heart of ancient reindeer migration routes used by the Sami people for over 6000 years, this is a fascinating area with a unique cultural heritage. In the lake itself it's possible to fish trout, arctic char and grayling.

Typical Norwegian cabin with a focus on natural materials like wood, an open floor plan and large windows. The living room has a long table, a cosy sofa and a wood stove. Perfect place to relax to the sound of the ptarmigans, while your eyes rest on the views. Separate outdoor toilet 50 meters away, with the possibility of a refreshing dip in the lake.
