We are Delphine and Espen, a French-Norwegian couple living beyond the Arctic Circle with our 35 Alaskan huskies.
Since 2017, we have welcomed guests from all over the world to experience dogsledding, sailing, skiing and Arctic wildlife.
Our team is small by choice. Every guide, host and handler represents OffTrack Experience and helps create the atmosphere our guests remember long after they leave.
We work hard to give our guests unforgettable experiences while giving our dogs the best life we can. We are mainly looking for people interested in a long-term collaboration.

Experience
Previous experience with dogs, tourism, hospitality or outdoor work is an advantage.
Be aware that cleaning, tidying and packing represent 50% of the work
Dogsledding education, mechanical skills, carpentry or maintenance experience are always appreciated.

Our website mostly shows expeditions, northern lights and adventures. Reality is much simpler.
Feeding dogs.

Welcoming guests.
Only a part of the work is spent guiding tours. Around half of the job consists of preparing, cleaning, organising and maintaining everything that makes those experiences possible.
If you enjoy practical work and take pride in doing everyday tasks well, you will probably enjoy life here.

Work rhythm
Tourism is not a Monday-to-Friday job.
Our work follows the weather, our guests, our dogs and the seasons.
Christmas and New Year are among the busiest weeks of our year, and every team member is expected to be available during this period.
Working hours vary from week to week. Some days are quiet, others are long and demanding.
Flexibility and adaptability are therefore essential. When activity decreases later in the season, longer breaks can usually be arranged.

Our website might show expeditions and adventures, but our daily life is built around simple routines at the farm. Feeding dogs, preparing cabins, splitting firewood, cleaning, cooking and looking after one another are just as important as guiding tours.

Technical skills can be learned. Curiosity, initiative, professional awareness and the ability to think one step ahead are much harder to teach.

Handler and guide (winter 27/28)
This is a part-time position combined to carpentry or house keeping.
August to October : autum training on karts and quads. Day-tours with guests where you get familiar with our guiding routines. Production of firewood. Picking and preparing berries, mushrooms, pig and moose meat from our hunt.
November : the snow arrives and we switch to sleds, and week-programs from the farm combining dogsledding and multi-activities. We are away at sea for the whale watching season, so you shall be self-driven.
December and January : most busy times of the year with multiple day-tours and little daylight - this period can sometimes be challenging, it's good to be prepared!
February to April : assistant with logistics around long tours with dogs and sailboat. We will be away for some weeks, so you shall be self-driven.
Working on long tours can be discussed upfront ; we invest in people who have a long term perspective in guiding with us in those mountains.
May to July : tidying after snow melting, firewood, carpentry, fencing, harvesting, building and restoration, fixing and painting at the farm.

There will be a 2 weeks trial period. Please recognise that the work on a farm is tough, especially in winter when the temperatures are below -10°. The animals have to be fed and the cleaning has to be done at fix time, irrelevant how the weather is!
Carpenter - Mechanician
This is a part-time position combined to dog handling.
At our farm all the buildings are in wood - and there is always a project going on. From fixing small things in the dog-yard to building an entire cabin! Main carpentry season is in summer. We have decent wood-working tools and workshop, and with a practical mind we manage to do many things ourselves. Most things at our farm are home-built, from sleds to lodges!
Housekeeper (summer 27)
This is a part-time position combined to dog handling.
We have 3 houses and one barn that need to be kept clean at all times, this also includes the house where we live. The 2 log-cabins, respectively built in 1870 and 2021, are both charming traditional accommodations, where we welcome visitors from all around the world, to discover our lifestyle with the dogs.
- The housekeeping work consists in keeping clean and tidy the 3 houses at all times (bedsheets, 3 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, filling up firewood...)
- The host work consists in giving guests a warm welcome upon arrival. Being available through their stay to make sure everything is smooth and they have the best time. Following up their needs during their stay : bookings and preparations for the sauna, for breakfast, and for organising activities (dogsledding, dog-karting, canoe, snowshoeing).
Seasonal worker / Trainee (summer 27)
Summer & Early Autumn
We are looking for one person to join our team on the farm between June and October (flexible dates).
Role
This position combines dog care, housekeeping and practical outdoor work. Tasks include feeding and caring for the dogs (morning and evening), cleaning and maintaining the houses and shared spaces, preparing for guest arrivals (cabins, sauna, breakfast), welcoming guests and assisting during their stay, gardening, grass cutting and maintaining outdoor areas, working in the potato field and other seasonal farm tasks, helping with firewood production and general maintenance, as well as a small daily help at a neighbouring cow farm (around 1 hour per day).
Daily rhythm
Morning work is usually from 8–12 or 9–13, with free time in the afternoon, and about one hour of evening work for dog feeding around 17–18. The position is generally 5 days per week, depending on the period and ongoing work on the farm.
Season overview
June to early July focuses on maintenance, firewood, gardening and daily routines. July requires more autonomy during holiday periods. From mid-August to September, there is the opportunity to be more involved with the dogs, including training and preparation for the upcoming season.
