The Husky Lodge Private Experience — a private Arctic stay at our family-run husky farm in Målselv, Northern Norway.

Stay in a historic Norwegian guesthouse reserved entirely for you, enjoy private adventures with our huskies, and return to a warm home and dinner prepared by our team.

Join us for one night or settle in for longer. We plan your stay around the season, the weather and what you would most enjoy.

Your stay

Each night booked includes one private Arctic activity, dinner, breakfast provisions and time to relax at the lodge.

A one-night stay offers a taste of life at the farm: meeting the dogs, heading out on your private adventure, unwinding in the wood-fired sauna and enjoying a peaceful evening.

Stay longer to explore different trails and activities, get to know the dogs and enjoy quieter moments between outings.

We agree on a programme with you before your arrival, leaving room to adapt to the conditions and your energy.

The lodge

Your accommodation is a Norwegian home dating back more than 150 years. Spacious, warm and full of character, it offers room to settle in, whether you are travelling as a couple, with family or with friends.

The entire guesthouse is reserved for your group. Other guests may be visiting or staying elsewhere at the farm, while your included activities are private.

Winter experiences

• Daytime dog sledding — drive your own team, share the driving or ride with your guide.
• Evening dog sledding — travel through the winter darkness, with a chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
• Guided snowshoeing through the surrounding forests and hills.
• Outdoor and survival skills.
• Time in the dog yard, learning about the huskies and joining the team at feeding time.

Sledding depends on suitable snow conditions. When necessary, we use wheeled carts instead, adapting the route to the conditions.

Summer and autumn experiences

• Daytime husky carting through forest trails.
• Evening husky carting.
• Canoeing on the Målselv river.
• Outdoor and survival skills.
• Time with the dogs and visits at feeding time.

Activities depend on the season and suitable conditions. One private activity is included per night booked; additional experiences can be arranged on request.

Dinner at the lodge

Dinner is included each evening, with homemade meals inspired by Arctic traditions and local ingredients. We plan the menu around your dietary requirements, so you can settle in and enjoy your evening.

Breakfast provisions are ready in the guesthouse for you to prepare and enjoy at your own pace the following morning.

Arctic atmosphere

In winter, the polar night brings soft midday light, snowy landscapes when conditions allow, and dark evenings for watching the sky. On clear nights, you can look for the Northern Lights from the farm.

Summer brings long, bright evenings and the midnight sun. Autumn offers colourful forests and cooler days for outings with the dogs.

Every season brings a different rhythm to life here.
