Hike & sail from Reinfjord

A beautiful summer tour, exploring the coast of Northern Norway with a private house and sailboat combination

Beyond the polar circle, the coast of Northern Norway offers amazing sceneries, between 68° and 70° north. We adapt our journey to the weather and possible hikes : the itinerary is flexible and evolves throughout the day, to admire some of those incredible landscapes that draws enthusiasts from all around the globe.

When the midnight sun shines over the fjords, we will anchor in a remote place and enjoy a bonfire on a sandy beach or a wild island. Hill slopes turn to gold and valleys are filled with white cotton-grass heads. We will maybe see puffins, seals, and catch our own fish for dinner (cod, pollack, halibut...) . A great time to visit Norway, for short or long hikes, and landscape photography!

Our sailboat takes you to the most secret fjords and fishermen's villages, to share an extraordinary journey. We look forward to introduce you to the beautiful arctic nature, dive into the local history - and show the best of the Norwegian culture!

Accommodation: we use our house in Reinfjord, combined with sailing onboard Mutine, a comfortable sailboat equipped for the Arctic

Program

Day 1: Welcome at Reinfjord upon arrival with the local speedboat. Get installed in the house, discover the sailboat, settle with a welcoming dinner and planning for the week according to the weather and your wishes.

Day 2 to 7: We spend some hours traveling by sail, and some hours ashore exploring the coast every day. We have the possibility to hike some remote islands with a beautiful sea view (and a lot of blueberry and cloudberry picking!) or some higher mountains depending on your wishes. We can also spend a quiet day at the beach, snorkel and swim from the boat, and explore the coastline with the stand-up paddle. It’s also possible to split the group, and some can do a longer hike - while the others return at the boat for a well deserved hot chocolate. In the evening we will do a combination of anchoring in remote archipelagos and visiting small fishermen harbours. Hopefully we can fish, catch our own cod, and barbecue it outside on the beach!

Day 8: speedboat returning to Tromsø after a good farewell dinner with your hosts.
