Beskrivelse

Welcome to the wilderness : small group, exclusive and unique Ski-touring!

Join for a week of ski-touring off the beaten track, where the dog-teams bring us to remote (snowmobile-free) mountains with great skiing possibilities! Going to the pace of the dogs, we will access remote areas completely off the grid, and will certainly be the only skiers on that mountain that year!

Dog-teams : 1 sled + 5 dogs per skier, and everything needed for a week in autonomy in the mountains

Number of participants : perfect for an exclusive trip for 4 persons

Start / end : Bardufoss

Destination : we travel trough Dividalen National park, at the heart of the Arctic - one of the largest wilderness areas in Europe, that extends over the Swedish and Finnish borders.

Level : correct off-piste skier. No dogsledding experience required, but you must appreciate dogs! Close cooperation between humans and dogs is essential. You will have your own husky-team which you will harness and supply together with us. The mountains remoteness demand a flexible tour schedule, and good physical shape of the participants.

A Ski adventure for true explorers

The trip is tent-based, and we adjust our schedule to the weather & snow conditions. We use a spacious, stable and strong 8 persons tent, where we all stay together and share our meals. We heat the tent with a paraffin stove and use sleeping mats and warm winter sleeping bags : it gets cozy!

We travel between 20 and 50 km per day by dogsled to the start of the Ski-route, and hopefully get to enjoy some Northern Lights. Although the area looks like untouched and raw wilderness, it has been the home of Sami reindeer herders trough centuries.

There are a multitude of Ski-tours possible on those vast mountains with 360° views and gentle glaciers. Thanks to the dogs we are able to start and finish in a different spot : no need to ski the same route up and down! We have already experienced many wonderful itineraries, but there are hundreds still to explore - and we dream of going there : the real ski and dog adventure!
