November to March (depending on snow conditions)
*please get in touch for requests regarding special Christmas & New Year trips!*
4 hours, from 11:00 to 15:00
Say hello to our friendly Alaskan huskies, that are ready for action, & discover the life on a small-scale kennel in an authentic way!
Run a sled pulled by happy huskies, and experience the silence of the forest, away from civilisation! We take small groups only, to offer you the best possible experience. With us, discover dogsledding in a fun and safe way!
Espen & Delphine will welcome you at their farm, and ensure that you always feel safe & comfortable. At your arrival, we will equip you with winter clothes so that you stay warm during the trip. Then we will take you in our kennel to meet our dogs up-close and personal. You will be taught how to handle a team of huskies, and we will explain what Alaskan huskies are, their origin, their history and of course why we have them today. After a short briefing, we are ready to head out & explore the beautiful surroundings!
We will be out on the trail, with views on deep forests and majestic mountains, for +/- 2h, depending on temperatures and wishes of the group. You will drive your own sled in pairs, with a driver and a passenger per sled, and the possibility to switch place regularly. You need to be in reasonable shape, to help and walk / push the sled uphill, and break / hold the dogs downhill, since the terrain here is slightly challenging. During the trip we enjoy a typical Norwegian outdoor lunch (reindeer soup, vegan and vegetarian options available) at our campsite, and some snacks. We will also talk about our daily life with 35 dogs. To finish, we head back to the farm for some warm drinks around the bonfire. We will have a little presentation about Espen’s background taking part 5 times in the Finnmarksløpet, longest sled-dog race in Europe. We will also say hi to our 3 puppies born in September!
Access :
To enjoy the experience you can visit us by bus (Arctic Route, https://www.thearcticroute.com) or with your rental car. It's a 2h scenic drive from Tromsø, and also gives the possibility to stop on the way back if there are Northern Lights! Our address to enter in your GPS :
