Kvænangen orca expedition - 8 days
A unique adventure in a beautiful area!
Every year from the beginning of November to January, the (probably) largest gathering of orcas in the world take place in Kvænangen fjord, far north of Norway, due to enormous amounts of herring. Sometimes as many as 50-60 orcas and humpback whales can be observed at the same time. We follow them closely to watch them play and feed. To be with these magnificent animals in their own habitat is an experience for life.
Join for a week of exploration in those remote waters, and discover those breathtaking sceneries by sailboat!
We adapt our journey to the weather, orcas and whales, and the itinerary evolves throughout the day to admire some of those incredible landscapes and wildlife that draws enthusiasts from all around the globe. At night we anchor in sheltered fjords, and can land to photography northern lights in those beautiful mountain landscapes.
It is a trip for travellers wanting to experience something unique, wild and beautiful.

We use Arctica II, a comfortable sailboat in steel built for extreme conditions in polar regions : 5 cabins, all with private facilities and unlimited hot water. Big warm saloon in the wheelhouse with large panorama windows. We have used her for last year's tours and it worked great, as we were able to stay close to the best whale watching places at all time. We look forward to sail onboard again this winter!
